Get Health Coverage Now is an independent insurance agency. Our licensed agents help people compare health plans on the Health Insurance Marketplace and finish an application. There is no charge to you for talking to us.
We work in seven states: North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama and Wisconsin. Your details go to an agent who holds a licence in your state, because the plans, the prices and the rules are different in each one.
A licensed agent goes through your options with you, checks which plans cover your doctors and your prescriptions, and helps you finish the application. You enroll on HealthCare.gov or with the insurance company.
Coverage by state
Whether Medicaid or the Marketplace is the right route depends on the state you live in, and the seven are not alike. Each page says what the rules are where you are.
- North Carolina — expanded Medicaid, so there is no coverage gap here
- Florida — the largest Marketplace in the country
- Texas — the largest coverage gap in the country
- Tennessee — where Medicaid stops and the Marketplace starts
- South Carolina — the gap, and the band above it
- Alabama — the poverty line is where the help starts
- Wisconsin — no coverage gap, and the top help band as well
- An agent goes through your options with you. They compare what the plans cover, what they cost you each month, and what you pay when you use them.
- Health conditions you already have are covered. A Marketplace plan cannot turn you down or charge you more because of a condition you already have.
- Help with the cost, if you can get it. Many households get help paying the premium. Whether you can, and how much, depends on your income and your household. An agent will tell you where you stand.
